Yesterday my mom brought over a journal she kept for the first couple years of my life.
The first thing that surprised me was that she referred to me as Hillary, not Hill or Hilly until about 10 months
Also that back then babies drank nonfat milk
And ate liver
And something called “veal dinner”
I got my first tooth 3 months later than Sasha
I dumbfounded my mom with crying
I got aggressive with her
I threw things
I gave her a New Year’s gift of sleeping till 9 a.m. at 4 months
And by a little over 2 years I had gotten surgery and a broken bone
Lots of similarities! I sometimes wonder what Sasha will think if she reads this blog one day. It is very strange to read about one’s self as a baby. I almost can’t picture myself. I imagine Sasha instead.
Have you seen notes from your parents about your own babyhood? Or heard anything that surprised you about what you ate or how you behaved?
