Nicole Chung was adopted when she was 2 ½ months old. Growing up, she knew all about her adopted family’s history — her parents were both from big Eastern European families in Ohio, and they’d moved out west as adults. But she had no idea who her birth parents were. She never thought about looking for them seriously… until she got pregnant.
Tune in to hear Nicole’s quest to find her birth parents, and how she found even more than she expected to.
Nicole is a writer and editor-in-chief for Catapult Magazine. Her book about reuniting with her birth family, All You Can Ever Know, is out now.
If you’re interested in hearing more from transracial adoptees, NPR’s Code Switch interviewed Nicole and other adoptees about their experiences.
