The Longest Shortest Time

February Sponsors

I can’t believe we are already in the second month of our second season. I’m excited to kick it off by telling you a little bit about some of the brands and businesses who are helping to make the show possible this month. As with all previous sponsor posts, these are businesses that have have me feel supported as a mom. And here is why.

Sasha is a big fan of what she calls “bags of baby food.” I’m not sure if it is the taste or the packaging, but she goes crazy for the stuff. If you’ve been following this blog, you know that Sasha has gone through a few periods of refusing to poop, and when things would go for a scary amount of time, there was one particular bag of baby food that pretty much always gave us results: Ella’s Kitchen’s prune + raisin baby brekkie. Sasha was so busy admiring the purple package that she never even knew that’s what did her in.

Dot Reeder is a women’s clothing boutique in Montclair, NJ—the town where I live—that all the ladies rave about. They’ve got great classic special occasion stuff, and nice stuff for the office, or even a casual night out when you want to try a little harder but not look like you tried too hard. As someone who has not gotten out much in the last few years, I always told myself that Dot Reeder was where I’d go if the right occasion presented itself. During our Kickstarter, that occasion arose. I was called in by DailyCandy Kids to do a photo shoot for their feature on our project. I had one of those oh-my-god-everything-nice-in-my-closet-doesn’t-fit-me-anymore freakouts. I went to Dot Reeder, and Laura, the owner, helped me find the perfect thing to flatter a body that has not quite gotten over having a baby. To top it all off, she has a basket full of dress-up clothes, so Sasha didn’t even get impatient with me while I shopped!

Jessica Keefe is another local who has had a really lovely impact on my life in the Jersey suburbs—she helped me find my home. Jessica works throughout Essex county, and has the rare quality in a realtor of not being pushy in the least. House-hunting can be a daunting process, and Jessica has the ability to rule out homes that are above your price range, as well as the ones that are too much work to look at. But, I found, she also is really great at seeing a place that needs work, and telling you exactly what it would take to pretty it up. And on a budget, too.
