When she found herself pregnant without a partner in her 20s, she panicked and tried to convince her daughter’s father to get back together with her.

Over time, Jamilah has come to embrace single motherhood — and the unexpected joys of co-parenting. She’s written about all of it in her new book, Black. Single. Mother.
